Vegan Snack Roundup

by Katie Morgans

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like we have all been snacking much more than usual because of quarantine. I mean, who doesn’t love snacking? After cycling through some of my favorite go-to snacks (hello, apples and peanut butter), I got a little bored with what I was eating. I wanted to try something new. However, I’m quite selective with what I eat; I eat mainly plant-based, and also wanted to try to find some brands that were BIPOC-owned if possible. Luckily for all of you, I decided to take the time to make a list of some of my favorite snacks. Whether you tend to lean towards savory or sweet snacks, I’m sure that you will be able to find something that your tastebuds will love. Enjoy!

This Saves Lives Bars

If you’re looking for a bit of a sweet fix with an added bonus of healthy ingredients, look no further. This Saves Lives makes the yummiest bars. They even have a crispy bars for kids! My favorite pick is the Madagascar vanilla almond and honey, but there are plenty of other options to choose from too. For every purchase, a food packet is donated to someone in need. It’s a win-win!

Misha’s Cheeses

If you're a fan of any sort of dips or cheeses, this one's for you. Misha’s is a Black-owned company that makes all different kinds of dairy-free cheeses. There are so many to choose from, so you're bound to find something that you love! I would recommend trying the French Connection with some crackers, but the options are pretty endless here.

Partake Cookies

Who doesn’t love cookies? Whether they are crunchy or extra soft, Partake has a flavor that you will enjoy. Personally, I would recommend trying out the Soft Baked chocolate chip cookies, but it’s all a matter of preference. All of their products are also vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO. It is also a Black woman-owned company! What is there not to love?

Hippeas Chickpea Puffs

If you have been looking for an alternative version of Cheeto puffs, the Hippeas chickpea puffs are a perfect vegan substitute. They have the cheese-y flavor with a similar texture, but they are also organic, non GMO, and nut-free, to name a few. The puffs come in a few different flavors, but my favorite is the vegan white cheddar. Give them a try!

Edoughble Vegan Cookie Dough

I know I can’t be the only person guilty of eating more cookie dough than the actual cookies. Edoughble recognizes this and makes edible cookie dough that is egg-free. Although all batches are vegetarian of course, there are also a few flavors that are vegan. I love a classic chocolate chip, but I really don’t think you can go wrong with any flavor!

Wholly Veggie

  1. Editor’s Choice!

Jalin, our Food Editor here at SUSTAIN The Mag, absolutely loves Wholly Veggie’s Kung Pao Broccoli vegan snack. It makes a great healthy and delicious snack for her busy days!

What are some of your favorite snacks? We would love to know!
